Military issued Ballistic and Laser Protective Spectacles (BLPS). The BLPS system was envisioned in 1986 for the SN-CIE document requiring improved eye protection. The BLPS were field tested during operation desert storm before being improved by the US Army Natick RD&E Center and re-evaluated in the early 90s before being finalized in 1995. These BLPS include a hard carry case designed to attach to the ALICE system, a pair of Peeper Keepers to prevent the spectacles from falling off your head, a pair of nose pads for extra grip, and the original instruction booklet.
The clear lens is intended to be used in low light or night conditions while offering protection from UV rays.
The green laser lens provides protection against two types of laser emissions.
Both lenses provide ballistic protection rated to stop a .15 caliber steel pellet travelling at 650 fps
