ORIGINAL VIETNAM WAR M1 STEEL HELMET W/ REPRODUCTION WWII HELMET NET

Genuine USGI Vietnam War M1 steel helmet complete with original early war P64″tortoise shell” liner and reproduction WWII M1 helmet net. The M1 is easily one of the most recognizable and widely used helmets in military history, serving U.S. troops since WWII. This version of the M1 was used during the Vietnam War, identifiable by the swivel bales for the clip-on chinstraps and the updated liner comprised of phenol-laminated nylon fabric and tightly-woven cotton webbing. Designed for durability and protection, the M1’s Hadfield steel shell and separate suspension liner system provided an adjustable fit, improved comfort, and protection from shrapnel and debris. Preserved in great condition, this helmet is a strong example of the iconic M1 and a solid addition to any military collection. It is missing the leather sweatband, which was most likely removed due to leather degradation.
